UCREST PARTNERS MDC TO AI DENTAL CLINIC CHAIN

PETALING JAYA, 3 APRIL 2024 – UCrest Berhad (“UCrest”, ACE Market: 0005) and MDC Asia Link Berhad (“MDC”) have signed the Business Partnership Agreement to digitalize with Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) and Internet of Medical Things (“IoMT”) with iMedic™ platform. MDC is the first dental clinic chain in Malaysia or perhaps Asia that embarks on the use of AI, IoMT and 3D printing technologies to elevate the standard of care and to provide better healthcare management services to the customers.

MDC currently has 25 dental clinics largely in Klang Valley area, is one of the largest dental clinic chains in the country, with special focus on paediatric dental care for children in addition to its general dentistry and orthodontic services. The environment of the clinics is designed to be conducive to children with colourful settings and play areas, and the dentist and nurses are specially trained to handle children on the dental chairs.

The objective of the partnership is to take the standard of care in the dental industry to the next level, provide the patients with the highest level of care. MDC will adopt the iMedic™ platform as the Clinic Management System (“CMS”). Dental care is a lifelong process that requires attentive management to have good dental health throughout. iMedic™ will be used to manage the patients where they are empowered with the mobile app allowing them to track the related vital signs, biomarkers and lifestyle that can affect the oral health and manage their dental care plan. All medical records including x-ray images will be uploaded and accessible by the patients any time, any place.

When one has diabetes, the body tends to make less saliva—which means less protection. Diabetes can also increase the amount of glucose in your saliva, leading to more bacterial growth and plaque build-up. These tissues can lead to gum diseases if not properly managed. On the other hand, infections from untreated periodontal disease can cause the blood sugar to rise and make it harder to control diabetes.

3D printing is transforming the dental industry by providing enhanced precision, faster production times, customization, improved patient communication, cost-effectiveness, and advancement in implant dentistry. MDC will adopt the use of 3D printing in the clinics to provide higher quality dental products to its customers.

The machine learning of AI technologies in iMedic™ would help to analyze and diagnose images easily and more accurately.

MDC intends to deploy fundus camera with AILab from UCrest in the clinics connecting to ophthalmologist to provide non-invasion diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy so that patients can seek diabetic treatment while treating the periodontal diseases.

“We are leading the transformation of dental care services with the use of AI, IOT, 3D printing and digital technologies to provide our customers with the highest level of care and services while improving the clinic operation efficiency,” said Dr. Aslan Bacho, CEO of MDC. “We focus on taking care of the dental health of the children with the purpose of developing a good dental habit since young, and continuously managing them, giving them a good dental health throughout their lifetime. With the digital technologies, customers can count on us in managing their dental health,” he added.

“With iMedic platform, the dentist and health consultants would be able to develop a personalized dental health plan for each of the customer and proactively manage and service the customers,” said Mr. Eg Kah Yee, Chairman of UCrest. “The AI technologies will be able to diagnose with high precision and predicting the development of the dental diseases of the patient, allowing early preventive measures to be taken,” he added.

iMedic™ is the leading digital health platform developed by UCrest currently used in multiple countries in Asia, Middle East, and US. iMedic™ leads the market with its IoMT and AI empowering the patients to better manage their own health and increasing the productivity of doctors and clinics through AI and automation. iMedic™ connects to over 30 wireless medical devices including ECG, blood pressure monitor, oximeter, ultrasound, BMI machines, CPAP, fundus cameras and others.
